Festivals and concerts making comeback
Several Northern Colorado summer concert series and festivals are moving from TBD to specific showtimes. You can mark your calendar for The Greeley Stampede June 24th - July 4 this summer. Another treasured annual event, Sculpture in the Park has announced their dates for August 6-8th at Benson Park in Loveland. The Rialto Theater will once again pair up with the city of Loveland to offer the Loveland Summer Concert series at Foote Lagoon. The series will start August 5th with four concerts through August 26th. The Lagoon Summer Concert Series in Fort Collins will be announcing their 2021 summer lineup in the coming weeks. Other venues to track include the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland and the Union Colony Civic Center in Greeley.
NoCo Economic Recovery Tracker
As part of broader Reignite the Economy efforts, the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce and regional partners created a tool to track Northern Colorado economic recovery. Selected indicators are updated regularly with no more than a two-month lag and are primarily available at the county level. This list of indicators includes but is not limited to unemployment rates, labor force, job postings, small business revenues, consumer spending and retail sales. Highlights from Colorado's March 2021 Economic & Revenue Forecast
The Colorado Legislative Council staff recently presented the March 2021 Economic and Revenue Forecast to the state's Joint Budget Committee. Some good news included that as of January, the state had regained 57% of jobs lost since the pandemic began last March. In addition, Colorado's general fund, made up primarily of income tax collections, "remained resilient" the state economists wrote. View complete article here.
NoCo communities top Best-Performing Cities Index
The Milken Institute released their Best-Performing Cities 2021 and the following Northern Colorado metropolitan statistical areas (MSA's) made the top 50: Fort Collins-Loveland #12, Greeley #43 and Boulder #44. The index tracks the economic performance of approximately 400 US MSAs. Metrics taken into account include job creation, wage gains, and high-tech GDP growth. Click here to view the complete list.
PVH named one of America's 50 Best Hospitals
Healthgrades recently released their 2021 list of America's Best Hospitals and Poudre Valley Hospital (PVH) was one of two hospitals in the state to be recognized on the 50 Best list. PVH won quality awards in the following categories: critical care, joint replacement, orthopedic surgery, pulmonary care and stroke care. A total of 10 Colorado hospitals made the 250 Best List. 2020 Regional Housing Snapshot
Information and Real Estate Services (IRES) released final numbers for the Regional Snapshot 2020. In Greeley, the number of Listings Sold was down by 2.9% while the Median Sales Price was up 4.8%, reaching $327,500. The Average Days on Market (ADOM) increased by 1.8%, rising to 57 days. In Loveland, the number of Listings Sold was up by 18.6% and the Median Sales Price up by 3.8%, reaching $415,000. The ADOM in Loveland was down 6.9% over last year to reach 67 days. In nearby Fort Collins, the number of Listings Sold increased by 8.6% and the Median Sales Price increased by 5% to reach $446,000. The ADOM for Fort Collins increased by 5.8% to reach 73 days.
Silver Grill garners national attention
Esquire magazine recently released a list of "100 Restaurants America Can't Afford to Lose" due to the pandemic and the Silver Grill was featured as one of the national treasures. While famous for their cinnamon rolls, the magazine highlights their uniquely blended styles and perfectly quaffed and crisped hash browns. Two other Colorado restaurants made the list, Frasca Food & Wine in Boulder and Alpine Vino in Telluride.

Colorado named a Best State For Women-Led Startups
Merchant Maverick, a small business reviewer, recently published the "Best States For Women-Led Startups in 2021" and Colorado came in at #1. The purpose of the report was to compare opportunities for women to launch and lead companies using data points including % of businesses operated by women, # of employees, salaries, longevity and venture capital dollars invested. Colorado ranked in the top 10 in four out of five gender-specific metrics.
